Bio
With Mother and father from Ballyhackamore; I was brought up a member of Knock Methodist so my roots are firmly in East Belfast.
I went to RBAI and to QUB for Civil Engineering. Spent time on the squash court with a certain David Jardine. Married and then emigrated to Johannesburg 1968.
I have two children and four grandchildren, living in Manchester and London.
Like many, in my late teens I drifted away from the Church and I was working in London in the 1980s when I felt strong promptings to return. A friend asked me out for an evening meal and, without telling me where we were going, took me to HTB. Turned out to be one of the first Alpha course suppers. We were addressed by Sandy Millar and Nicky Gumble, and I was immediately clear that Christ was my Saviour.
Back in Belfast I met up with now Brother David Jardine of the Society of St. Francis, and over a period he deepened my understanding and knowledge of the faith. I was blessed to work with Br David, Sr Margaret, Harold Love and others in Divine Healing Ministries, and I was then asked to be Treasurer as Hilton Henry’s health was deteriorating.
When Br David retired from DHM we appointed Fergus McMorrow as Director.
Fergus is taking us all on a spirit-led journey – and I look forward to the coming years of excitement to see what our Lord has planned for his Ministries, especially as we have younger folk like Peter Kirch on board.
